How to Join a Group on MySpace
One of the best ways to find people of like minded interest is through the use of Myspace groups. Myspace has an amazing variety of people with an immense amount of different interests. In fact, there are over two million different groups on Myspace. With all of the different groups you’re sure to be able to find what you’re looking for.
To get involved with groups and be able to discuss issues regarding the groups interests you must first join. Upon joining a group you’ll than be able to participate in conversations and post pictures to the group.
You can get started by selecting ‘Groups’ from the Myspace webpage. Then select the category of groups that most interests you. If you do not see a category that closely resembles the group there is a search box to help you. The search box is located at the bottom of the page and you can use it to enter any keyword you wish.
After you’ve clicked on the group name you’ll be delivered to the group home page. There you can read the most recent group postings as well as get a feel for the groups overall vibe. From the group home page you can see many of the details regarding the group. Including when it was founded, the amount of members, its membership type and its location. Some groups are private and membership is by invite only or at the approval of the group moderator.
If you like the group you see there is a join group button on the group home page. Selecting the group will bring up a Myspace prompt asking you to confirm. If the group is public you should immediately become a part of the group and be able to participate in contributing to the group. As a group member you are often able to post messages, start a new topic, upload pictures and send a bulletin to all members. Look at your individual group for its specific rules.
When you have joined several groups you will be able to see them all listed by selecting ‘My Groups’ from your group page. Selecting an individual group will allow you to see the details of that group. If you wish to change your individual group privacy settings you can select ‘Privacy’ from your group’s home page. From the privacy page you can determine whether you wish to receive bulletins from all members or from the group moderators. You are also able to select whether you would like to be notified from your group page if a new post has been made in your group.
If you haven’t yet begun participating in the groups, what are you waiting for? With all the choices you’re sure to find something that suits your taste and individual interests.
